Cooperstown Repair Cafe

  • Cooperstown Farmers Market 101 Main Street, Cooperstown, NY (map)

Otsego 2000, the Otsego County Conservation Association, and the Otsego Land Trust are offering a series of Repair Cafés at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. Community members are invited to bring broken items from home and have expert volunteer repair coaches evaluate and help to fix them free of charge. Materials needed to repair items may be available to purchase at cost.

Repair Cafés, a worldwide movement started in Amsterdam in 2009, build community and promote repairing items instead of throwing them out.

On Sept. 8th,
repair coaches will be on hand to evaluate and fix appliances, lamps, clocks, wooden items, electrical issues, as well as sewing projects like mending, including advice on how to repair clothes and personalize them with visible mending. The Repair Cafe cannot do alterations.

During the summer, this event will be happening on the second Tuesday of each month.
