Kick off Glimmerglass Film Days with an easy, interactive 1.3-mile roundtrip walk to the beaver pond on the Clark Tower trail in Cooperstown. Exploring the theme of ‘Second Nature,’ we will investigate the different plants and habitats along the trail and explore the different ways that disturbance shapes our landscape. This experience will have you reflecting on what observations come ‘second nature’ to you when enjoying the outdoors, and how those observations influence your connection with nature. By the end of the walk you will be able to identify patterns in the living landscape and use your observations to make inferences about the surrounding plants and animals. Come join us for this calming, informational walk that will strengthen your relationship with the natural world. Afterwards, enjoy a bite to eat before heading off to view Wild Inside, the opening film of the film festival.
Meet at the Clark Tower property, Beaver Meadow Road, Cooperstown (note: parking is along the roadside. Be sure to pull as far off the road as you safely can).
