Celebrate the arrival of fall with a paddle down the Butternut Creek! Join the Butternut Valley Alliance and the Otsego County Conservation Association (OCCA) for a relaxing community float through one of the valley's most scenic waterways. This event is free and open to the public.
Participants will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Spring Street bridge in Gilbertsville before launching for the paddle. The float will conclude at Copes Corner, where everyone is invited to enjoy a barbecue at the pavilion.
The route is weather and water-level dependent. If water conditions are too low, we'll adjust the plan and paddle an out-and-back route from Copes Corner instead. Registered participants will be notified if the location changes.
Bring your kayak or canoe, life jacket, and a sense of adventure. We hope you'll join us for a fun morning on the water and a chance to enjoy the beauty of the Butternut Valley together.
